Crimson Desert Sells 2 Million Copies but Faces Mixed Reception
Crimson Desert sold 2 million copies and faces heavy criticism at launch, with developers promising fixes as players question refunds and compare it to past troubled releases.
People don’t seem very happy with the release of Crimson Desert. As we can see on Steam, it currently has mixed reviews:

These reviews are largely in line with the overall reception of the game. Most of the negative feedback focuses on the controls, story, performance, and even last-minute surprises—such as the lack of compatibility with Intel Arc graphics cards.
All this negativity has also impacted Pearl Abyss’ stock, which has lost around 40% of its value—an insane drop.

The developers of Crimson Desert have already announced that they are working on new patches to fix many of the current issues. They are also actively listening to the community and gathering feedback to improve the game.
The game has already sold 2 million copies, raising questions about how many refunds there might be and how the developers will handle the situation. Could this turn into another No Man’s Sky or Cyberpunk 2077 scenario?
As a reminder, the game is currently almost unplayable on Steam Deck, so I wouldn’t recommend buying it if you plan to play on the device.
